TAYOA is funded through grants provided by foreign governments (such as the Embassy of Finland and the British Council), by the local agencies of foreign foundations and banks (such as the NGO PATH, for the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation, donor community funds such as the Rapid Envelope Funding, (Dolloite & Touche) and Citibank's program for HIV/AIDS youth education).

TAYOA is also funded by bilateral aid agencies that give through NGOs (such as DFID through CARE), and corporations such as Celtel International, Mobitel Tanzania, Vodacom Tanzania, TTCL, Zantel Tanzania and CRDB Bank under Corporate Social Responsibility initiatives.

TAYOA relies heavily on expertise offered pro bono, on local youth volunteers (who work for food and transport expenses), and on contributions of free or discounted equipment.
