Summary

Youth Concerns Care Solidarity ASRH ( UJANA: AFYA YA UZAZI NA MALEZI BORA). project is being funded under the PATH¡¦s Behavior Change Communication (BCC) program area of AYA (Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation), which is a project on Alliance with African Youth for Sexual Reproductive Health including HIV/AIDS and it is being implemented by TAYOA. AYA's main goal in Tanzania is to contribute to the improvement of sexual and reproductive health of youths. The main goal under ASRH Project is to improve the sexual reproductive health of out-of-school adolescents aged between 10-24 years old in districts of Kinondoni, Temeke and Ilala in Dar-es-salaam by decreasing cases of STIs, HIV and unwanted pregnancies through behavioral change communication interventions and using the PATH's LPS strategy.

Progressive Report (2001/2002)

Under the project, so far about 600 peer educators have been trained on ASRH outreach programs. These youths have managed to reach 10 more youths per one outreach activity. They had also made at least 10 youth groups outreach programs in their respective wards, adding up to an estimated 18,700 adolescents reached by TAYOA in districts of Temeke , Kinondoni and Ilala under the project supported by AYA ( Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation).
